Privacy policy

We keep this policy in plain language. It explains what we collect when you use Sthir, why we need it, and how we protect it.

Who we are

Sthir runs this website and booking service for counselling-style sessions (including audio and Google Meet). When this policy says “we” or “us”, it means the team operating Sthir.

What information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Booking & contact details: name, email address, and phone number when you book a session (no account required). If you create an optional account, we also store a secure password hash.
  • Booking details: whether you book as a student or professional, session type (audio or Google Meet), price, booking status, and related notes we add for scheduling (for example session date, time, or meeting link when relevant).
  • Payment references: we store confirmation that a payment was made (for example payment and order references from our payment partner). We do not store your full card number on our servers.
  • Technical data: standard server and security logs may include IP address, browser type, and pages visited, to keep the service safe and working.

How we use your information

We use this information only to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • process bookings and payments;
  • send you booking-related messages (for example confirmations);
  • reply when you contact us;
  • meet legal duties and protect against fraud or misuse.

We do not sell your personal data.

Payments

Payments are processed by a secure third-party provider (Razorpay). When you pay, their terms and privacy policy also apply to how they handle card and payment data. On our side we keep only what we need to match your payment to your booking.

Cookies and similar tools

We use cookies and similar technologies needed for the site to work: for example keeping you logged in, protecting forms, and (where used) admin tools. You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may limit some features.

How long we keep data

We keep account and booking information for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and support reasons. After that, we delete or anonymise it where possible.

Your choices

Where the law allows, you may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or restrict certain processing. If you want to exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before we act.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No online service can promise perfect security; please use a strong password and keep it private.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The latest version will always be published here. If changes are important, we will try to tell you in a clear way (for example by email or a notice on the site).
